Consists of 5 metal rods of different materials having equal lengths mounted in sheet metal box 150 x 90 x 100mm with corks. Rods are coated in paraffin wax when used and the rate of melting is compared by hot water put into the box. The Box is supported by a wooden handle.

This apparatus is used for the Demonstration of the convection currents in air. Comprises a sheet metal box with open sliding glass front and two circular openings at the top for mounting glass chimneys. On the inner side, below each chimney, a candle holder is mounted. Air heated by a candle placed beneath one of the chimneys with glass door closed, causes the flow of convection currents, which can be observed by bringing a smoldering string near the top of other unheated chimney. Supplied without candles.

This apparatus is used to demonstrate 'Brownian' or random motion of smoke particles. A specially designed plastic box, with a sliding lid, contains a glass smoke cell, a cylindrical 'Whitley Bay' pattern condensing lens and a low voltage festoon bulb. The components are pre-adjusted so as to focus the light at the correct height in relation to the smoke cell, ensuring that observation is enhanced.Overall height 25 mm. approx.
