Daniel Cell
Daniel Cell  

Provides constant EMF over continuous use. Comprising a heavy-gauge copper outer vessel with an internal perforated shelf for copper sulphate crystals, a porous pot, and an amalgamated zinc rod fitted with a wooden supporting cap. The zinc rod and copper vessel are each provided with a 4mm socket terminals. The cell has an EMF of 1.1V approx., with a working capacity of about 800 ml.

Copper Voltameter
Copper Voltameter  

It demonstrates the principle of electroplating. It consists of three copper plates suspended from a moulded Bakelite cover either in a glass jar or plastic jar. The two outer plates called "LOSS PLATES" are connected to one binding post on top and the inner "GAIN PLATE" is connected to the other binding post. All plates are firmly held in position when clamped and are easily inserted or removed.



Hofmann Voltameter

Fabricated out of borosilicate glass this apparatus is used for demonstration of the decomposition of water, determination of chemical composition by electrolysis and with applications in the evaluation of the electrochemical equivalent of hydrogen. For the electrolysis of water, platinum electrodes are used and for the electrolysis of ammonia or hydrochloric acid, carbon electrodes are used. The electrodes available separately, are mounted in rubber stopper for insertion in to the open ends of the voltameter limbs. This method in addition to being convenient, obviates the use of fragile connections, such as platinum wires loops fused through the limb. Each limb is of approx. 50 ml. cap. integral with reservoir tube and funnel shaped bulb, with a stopcock at the top of each limb. For use with 12 volts D. C. supply. The apparatus is packed in specially designed Styrofoam box ensuring safety in transit.
