Also known as Mariotte's Cylinder, this simple device offers a famous and convincing demonstration of the increase in water pressure with depth. The cylinder has three equally spaced holes in its sides. When the cylinder is filled with water, the outflowing streams follow three different trajectories, governed by the water pressure at the depth of each hole. Made of Sheet Metal cylinder 400 x 60 mm (h x d) with a wide base ensure stability.

A working model to demonstrate the principles involved in the action of a force-pump. Cylinder is 25 x 350 mm dia x overall height. It is provided with a non-return float valve at its lower end. Lower part of the cylinder has an outlet side tube communicating with the lower end of another cylinder also equipped with non-return valve. Outlet tube from the secondary cylinder is drawn out into a jet to demonstrate ability of force pump to eject water at high pressure. Mounted on wooden stand.

The apparatus comprises a pumping cylinder dia 25mm x 350mm overall height, provided with a piston and a non return valve at its lower end. A side tube joined at lower end of cylinder is also provided with a non return valve as shown in the picture.
