Van De Graff Generator, Hand Driven
Van De Graff Generator, Hand Driven

Hand operated version mounted on wooden board. Two insulated pulleys are hand driven by rubber belt The generator is self exiting and charge seperation occurs. The resulting positive and negative charges being carried off by combs at lower and upper pulleys. A metal sphere surrounds the upper pulley assembly and charge accumulates on the sphere, which is insulated by a plastic column supporting the pulley assembly. The charge builds up until electrical breakdown of air surrounding the sphere occurs. Supplied with a discharging sphere.

Consist of a aluminium dome of diameter 200 mm, a separate discharge spherical 75 mm dia. mounted on an insulated rod, perspex insulating components, rubber belt, power input through a pair of color coded 4 mm sockets, complete with 1.5 m three core cable for use on 220 V 50 Hz A.C. Accessories -Provided with 4 mm pegs to fit onto the top of aluminium dome. Supplied complete with discharge sphere, mounted on a long insulated handle.

Van De Graff Generator Superior
Van De Graff Generator Superior

A very useful tool for teaching comprehensive range of electrostatics experiments, It comprises of a motor driven assembly encased in a sturdy metal box made of specially designed two part aluminium extrusion with insulated plastic side supports for safety. The motor driven lower roller rotates the upper roller assembly located on top of the insulated Perspex pipe through a removable flat rubber belt. The continuous rotation of rubber belt results in accumulation of charge on the one piece near spherical metallic dome, charge being transferred continuously from rubber belt through charge collecting combs. The motor operates on AC mains 220-240V, 50/60Hz, fused input through a 3-Core mains cable. Provided with indicator type ON/OFF switch. On bringing earthed discharge sphere, sufficiently close to the charged dome, transfer of charge from dome to the ground takes place in the form of electric spark jumping from dome to the discharge sphere. Supplied complete with discharge sphere, mounted on a long insulated handle.
